Think of it like your tires… If you catch a nail, do you replace all 4 tires? Or even one? Of course not, you repair and get back on the road. Most windshields have a very long life if they are maintained regularly.

Common Repairs…
A Chip should not be mistaken with a break because it will not crack, it is typically only surface damage, very superficial, very minute and more often than not white in color. While this little chip can still be cleared up and smoothed over, it’s never going to crack on you… it will just taunt you with its’ presence though.
Cracks
A Crack is a single or multiple line(s) that are multi directional – they can go up down, side to side, or they can zigzag. And we can fix them all as long as they are within 18 inches long for a single crack. The color of cracks are black, gray, reflective like a mirror and even rainbow in color. Like a break, this too has air trapped in the void of the glass and needs to be repaired as soon as possible to save you the cost of UNNECESSARY windshield replacement.
Breaks
A break is determined by having fissures or cracks propagating from the center impact these are known as stars, bullseyes, combinations of the two. They can be black, grey, reflective like a mirror even rainbow in color all of which is air trapped in a void of the break and it will inevitably crack. These must be repaired as soon as possible.. they are a ticking time bomb that will crack with vibrations, temperature, or just because it can.
